Tignanello 2019 Vintage Overview

2019 OVERVIEW

Antinori’s 2019 Tignanello shows tightly focused red and black cherry fruit wrapped in sleek tannins, with notes of cassis, subtle spice, dried herbs and a cool, earthy edge that speaks to its classic, moderate vintage. The palate is refined and vertical rather than opulent, emphasizing energy and precision over sheer richness, and the finish is long, stony and poised, promising impressive complexity with time in bottle.

About Tignanello

Tignanello is Antinori’s iconic Super Tuscan red, sourced exclusively from the limestone- and marl-rich Tignanello vineyard in the heart of Chianti Classico and blending predominantly Sangiovese with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A pioneering wine that was among the first Sangiovese aged in barrique and made without white grapes in Chianti Classico, it typically shows ripe red and black fruit, spice, tobacco and balsamic notes wrapped in polished tannins, uniting Tuscan terroir with a modern, ageworthy style.
