Tignanello 2016 Vintage Overview

2016 OVERVIEW

Antinori’s Tignanello 2016 marries deep black cherry and plum fruit with notes of dark spice, espresso and wild herbs, all wrapped in a poised structure of silky but driving tannins. The wine feels both powerful and finely etched, with vibrant acidity and mineral tension carrying a long, savory finish that marks this as one of the most precise and elegant Tignanello vintages in recent years.

About Tignanello

Tignanello is Antinori’s iconic Super Tuscan red, sourced exclusively from the limestone- and marl-rich Tignanello vineyard in the heart of Chianti Classico and blending predominantly Sangiovese with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A pioneering wine that was among the first Sangiovese aged in barrique and made without white grapes in Chianti Classico, it typically shows ripe red and black fruit, spice, tobacco and balsamic notes wrapped in polished tannins, uniting Tuscan terroir with a modern, ageworthy style.
