Tignanello 2014 Vintage Overview

2014 OVERVIEW

In 2014, Antinori’s Tignanello shows its class through restraint rather than raw power, with shimmering aromas of blackcurrant, red cherry and rose petal layered over hints of leather, subtle spice and warm earth. The palate is medium-bodied but very long, its higher-than-usual Cabernet component giving a cool, dark-fruited clarity while Sangiovese brings tangy brightness and a savory edge; fine, sweet-edged tannins keep everything precise and harmonious. This is a graceful, finely etched Tignanello that favors finesse and drinkability over muscle, especially appealing for those who enjoy elegance in Super Tuscans.

About Tignanello

Tignanello is Antinori’s iconic Super Tuscan red, sourced exclusively from the limestone- and marl-rich Tignanello vineyard in the heart of Chianti Classico and blending predominantly Sangiovese with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A pioneering wine that was among the first Sangiovese aged in barrique and made without white grapes in Chianti Classico, it typically shows ripe red and black fruit, spice, tobacco and balsamic notes wrapped in polished tannins, uniting Tuscan terroir with a modern, ageworthy style.
