Cool-toned dark fruit leads the 2013 Antinori Tignanello, with blackcurrant, blackberry and red cherry layered over tobacco, warm spice and a stony, earthy edge. The palate is concentrated yet vibrant, with taut, refined tannins and a long, precise finish that currently feels structured and reserved rather than showy, promising far greater complexity with further bottle age.

Tignanello is Antinori’s iconic Super Tuscan red, sourced exclusively from the limestone- and marl-rich Tignanello vineyard in the heart of Chianti Classico and blending predominantly Sangiovese with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A pioneering wine that was among the first Sangiovese aged in barrique and made without white grapes in Chianti Classico, it typically shows ripe red and black fruit, spice, tobacco and balsamic notes wrapped in polished tannins, uniting Tuscan terroir with a modern, ageworthy style.
