Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Da Capo 2016 Vintage Overview

2016 OVERVIEW

Power and grace collide in the 2016 Domaine du Pegau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Da Capo, a lavish wash of black cherry, plum and cassis layered with smoked meat, black tea, spice and wild garrigue. The palate is huge yet weightless, velvety and seamless, with a lingering trail of dark chocolate and sweet Provençal herbs that underscores why this acclaimed vintage is considered one of the great Da Capos.

About Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Da Capo

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Da Capo from Domaine du Pegau is the estate’s ultra-rare flagship red, produced only in top vintages from very low-yielding, century-old vines across La Crau and other prime parcels. A traditional field blend dominated by Grenache with Syrah, Mourvèdre and other permitted varieties, it is vinified with whole clusters and aged for two years in large old foudres, yielding a massively concentrated yet seamless wine famed for its dark fruit, garrigue, spice and remarkable longevity.
