Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Da Capo 2010 Vintage Overview

2010 OVERVIEW

Built on a towering core of dark plum, blackberry liqueur and sweet cherry, Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Da Capo 2010 feels both hedonistic and finely chiseled, layered with notes of licorice, cocoa, cigar box, garrigue and roasted meat. The palate is huge yet weightless, with deep, saturated fruit, sculpted tannins and a long, smoky, spice-laced finish that makes clear why this vintage is so revered. Decant for hours to glimpse its full complexity today, or cellar for even greater nuance.

About Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Da Capo

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Da Capo from Domaine du Pegau is the estate’s ultra-rare flagship red, produced only in top vintages from very low-yielding, century-old vines across La Crau and other prime parcels. A traditional field blend dominated by Grenache with Syrah, Mourvèdre and other permitted varieties, it is vinified with whole clusters and aged for two years in large old foudres, yielding a massively concentrated yet seamless wine famed for its dark fruit, garrigue, spice and remarkable longevity.
