Domaine du Pegau is one of the benchmark traditional producers of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Southern Rhône, long owned and run by the Féraud family. Although the family has grown vines in the area since the 17th century, the modern estate was effectively born in 1987, when Laurence Féraud returned from wine studies to join her father Paul and rebrand the old “Domaine Féraud” as Domaine du Pegau, named after a medieval wine jug (“pégau”) discovered in the Popes’ Palace at Avignon.
