Chateau Pontet-Canet 2011 Vintage Overview

2011 OVERVIEW

Dark, dense and very Pauillac in spirit, the 2011 Château Pontet-Canet layers ripe blackcurrant and blackberry fruit with notes of cocoa, coffee bean, mint and a distinctive mineral spine. The palate is powerful yet finely woven, with chewy, ripe tannins and a cool, slightly savoury edge that keeps all that richness in firm, precise shape. This is a serious, biodynamically grown vintage that has exceeded expectations for the year and is now hitting a beautiful, harmonious stride.
