Chateau Lafleur 2023 Vintage Overview

2023 OVERVIEW

Quiet intensity defines Chateau Lafleur 2023: vivid dark berries and red cherries layered with cool florals, a touch of cocoa and gentle spice glide across a palate that feels both silken and firmly structured. The wine is focused, high in energy and detail rather than showy, with superb purity, tension and length that promise real reward for those who give it time to evolve. A truly refined, classic Lafleur in a much-lauded vintage, built more on precision than opulence.

About Chateau Lafleur

Château Lafleur by Château Lafleur is one of Pomerol’s most coveted and rare reds, a tiny 4–4.5 ha “boutique” grand vin planted in an unusually equal mix of Merlot and Cabernet Franc (Bouchet) on a complex mosaic of clay- and gravel-based soils opposite Château Pétrus. This distinctive cépage and low-yield, rigorously traditional viticulture yield a powerful yet refined wine of great minerality, floral lift, and longevity, often described as among Bordeaux’s most individualistic and ageworthy wines.
