Chateau Lafleur 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Energy is the calling card of 2021 Château Lafleur, a Pomerol that streaks across the palate with intense red and black currant fruit, wild berries and a lightning-bright line of acidity. Beneath the vibrant core you find layers of orange zest, spice, dark florals and fine, graphite-tinged tannins, giving a sense of precision and quiet power rather than bulk. This is a brilliantly focused, tightly coiled Lafleur that feels destined to blossom into something profound with long bottle age.

About Chateau Lafleur

Château Lafleur by Château Lafleur is one of Pomerol’s most coveted and rare reds, a tiny 4–4.5 ha “boutique” grand vin planted in an unusually equal mix of Merlot and Cabernet Franc (Bouchet) on a complex mosaic of clay- and gravel-based soils opposite Château Pétrus. This distinctive cépage and low-yield, rigorously traditional viticulture yield a powerful yet refined wine of great minerality, floral lift, and longevity, often described as among Bordeaux’s most individualistic and ageworthy wines.
