Barolo Mosconi 2016 Vintage Overview

2016 OVERVIEW

E. Pira & Figli’s 2016 Barolo Mosconi is darkly built and powerful, with dense black cherry and plum layered by mentholated spice, tobacco, earth and roasted nuts, all wrapped in firm, muscular tannins. Full-bodied and concentrated yet finely etched, it drives long on the palate with a lifted, savoury finish that promises impressive complexity in time.

About Barolo Mosconi

Barolo Mosconi by E. Pira & Figli (Chiara Boschis) is a single‑cru, organically farmed Nebbiolo from the historic Mosconi vineyard in Monforte d’Alba, a high, south‑facing site around 370 meters that naturally yields powerful, long‑lived Barolo. Typically aged about two years in lightly toasted French oak and then in bottle, it marries the dark, brooding structure and firm tannins typical of Mosconi with Boschis’ polished, aromatic style, giving wines that show both intensity and notable finesse.
