Barolo Mosconi 2015 Vintage Overview

2015 OVERVIEW

E. Pira & Figli’s 2015 Barolo Mosconi unfurls with soaring aromatics of red and black cherry, plum, dried rose, wild herbs and licorice over a core of earth and iron. The palate is full-bodied yet finely proportioned, with dense, tightly woven tannins and a long, savory finish that mingles dark fruit, spice and a ferrous, almost saline edge. Powerful and muscular, it remains precise and elegant, promising superb complexity with time in bottle.

About Barolo Mosconi

Barolo Mosconi by E. Pira & Figli (Chiara Boschis) is a single‑cru, organically farmed Nebbiolo from the historic Mosconi vineyard in Monforte d’Alba, a high, south‑facing site around 370 meters that naturally yields powerful, long‑lived Barolo. Typically aged about two years in lightly toasted French oak and then in bottle, it marries the dark, brooding structure and firm tannins typical of Mosconi with Boschis’ polished, aromatic style, giving wines that show both intensity and notable finesse.
