Echo de Lynch Bages 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

Deep, dark fruit rolls through Echo de Lynch-Bages 2022, cushioned by juicy Merlot richness yet framed by firm Cabernet structure that clearly echoes the grand vin. Aromas of ripe currant, dark berries and subtle spice lead to a compact, full-flavored palate, where chewy tannins, a stony edge and a gentle cocoa note promise real gain from a few years in the cellar. This is a confident, muscular second wine that feels very much like “baby Lynch” in this ripe, concentrated vintage.

About Echo de Lynch Bages

Echo de Lynch-Bages is the second wine of Pauillac fifth growth Château Lynch-Bages, produced mainly from the estate’s younger vines on the gravelly Bages plateau overlooking the Gironde. Created in 1976 (long known as Château Haut-Bages Averous and renamed Echo de Lynch-Bages from 2008), it offers a more approachable, supple and early-drinking expression of the Lynch-Bages style, typically blending Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot (and sometimes Cabernet Franc) to give silky tannins, fresh red and black fruit, and good aging potential.
