Chateau d'Issan 2019 Vintage Overview

2019 OVERVIEW

Chateau d'Issan 2019 displays a pure, focused core of red and blackcurrant layered with cherry, citrus zest, violets and a touch of cedar and cocoa. The high Cabernet content brings a cool, upright structure with silky yet tightly woven tannins, giving the wine depth and drive rather than weight. Long, refined and poised, it balances Margaux fragrance with quietly powerful intensity that promises graceful evolution in the cellar.

About Chateau d'Issan

Château d’Issan is the historic grand vin of this Third Growth Margaux estate, drawn from the old vines within the walled “enclos” on deep gravel over clay that yields particularly elegant, long-lived Cabernet Sauvignon–Merlot blends. Typically aged 16–18 months in about 50% new French oak, it is known for its supple, refined tannins, floral Margaux perfume, and a balance of ripeness and freshness that allows it to age gracefully for decades.
