Dark-fruited and statuesque, 2010 Château d’Issan layers blackcurrant, plum and blackberry compote with truffle, tobacco leaf, graphite and warm stone, all wrapped in powerful but silky tannins. The palate feels concentrated yet beautifully poised, with a long, savoury finish that shows why this acclaimed vintage is built for the long haul.
Roast lamb with rosemary and garlic, dry-aged ribeye steak, duck breast with black cherry sauce

Château d’Issan is the historic grand vin of this Third Growth Margaux estate, drawn from the old vines within the walled “enclos” on deep gravel over clay that yields particularly elegant, long-lived Cabernet Sauvignon–Merlot blends. Typically aged 16–18 months in about 50% new French oak, it is known for its supple, refined tannins, floral Margaux perfume, and a balance of ripeness and freshness that allows it to age gracefully for decades.
