Intensity hits first in Thierry Allemand Cornas Reynard 2022, a deep, sinewy Syrah that layers dark berries, plum skin, black cherry and crushed violets over a pulse of pepper, smoke and stone. The palate is both powerful and gliding, with pristine fruit stretched over ultra-fine tannins, finishing long, fragrant and almost weightless for such concentration. This vintage feels like a reference-point Reynard: compact now, but already humming with energy and detail.
Roast leg of lamb with rosemary and garlic; Braised beef short ribs; Black pepper-crusted venison loin

Cornas Reynard is Thierry Allemand’s flagship old-vine Cornas, a 100% Syrah cuvée drawn from his oldest, steep, granitic parcels in the Reynard climat and surrounding ancient terraces once farmed by Noël and Louis Verset. Organically worked and whole-cluster fermented, then aged about two years in used foudres and barriques, it’s renowned for combining deep, dark, mineral-inflected power with remarkable finesse, perfume, and longevity, and is widely regarded as one of the reference wines of the Cornas appellation.
