Cornas Reynard 2020 Vintage Overview

2020 OVERVIEW

Power surges from the glass in a deep wave of dark fruit, plum skin, spice and cool stone, with a wild, almost feral Cornas edge held firmly in check by striking freshness. Thierry Allemand Cornas Reynard 2020 is immense and tightly coiled today, packed with dense black fruit, savory undertones and stacked, fine but imposing tannins that promise decades of evolution. This is a monumental, slow-burning vintage that will reward patience with extraordinary depth and complexity.

About Cornas Reynard

Cornas Reynard is Thierry Allemand’s flagship old-vine Cornas, a 100% Syrah cuvée drawn from his oldest, steep, granitic parcels in the Reynard climat and surrounding ancient terraces once farmed by Noël and Louis Verset. Organically worked and whole-cluster fermented, then aged about two years in used foudres and barriques, it’s renowned for combining deep, dark, mineral-inflected power with remarkable finesse, perfume, and longevity, and is widely regarded as one of the reference wines of the Cornas appellation.
