Silky yet focused, Louis Jadot’s 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Estournelles Saint-Jacques Premier Cru layers red plum and wild berry fruit with cool currant, hints of mint and subtle spice, all over a vibrant, limestone-inflected frame. The mid-palate feels supple and caressing, but the finish tightens into fine, serious tannins that promise further refinement in bottle. A particularly graceful and pure expression for the vintage, with both charm now and the structure to age.
