Chateau Quintus 2023 Vintage Overview

2023 OVERVIEW

Energy and depth define Chateau Quintus 2023, layering ripe blackberry, plum and black cherry with hints of cocoa, hazelnut, licorice and gentle smoke. The Merlot-driven core feels plush yet precisely framed by limestone-driven grip, giving a cool, chalky line and a long, savoury finish where dark fruit, cedar and spice linger with impressive clarity. A refined, modern St-Emilion that combines generosity with tension and should gain in complexity with patience.

About Chateau Quintus

Château Quintus is the grand vin of Domaine Clarence Dillon’s Saint-Émilion estate, a Merlot- and Cabernet Franc–based Bordeaux red grown on a high limestone promontory with a patchwork of slopes and microclimates that lend both richness and freshness. Crafted as a modern Right Bank “fifth child” in the Clarence Dillon family, it typically offers deep, ripe black-fruit character wrapped in supple tannins and an undercurrent of chalky, limestone-driven minerality that reflects its commanding terroir above the Dordogne valley.
