Chateau Pavie 2021 shows sleek, layered dark berry and plum fruit wrapped in vibrant acidity, firm but refined tannins, and a long, chalk-tinged finish that emphasizes its limestone roots. Hints of cocoa, baking spice and dried flowers add complexity to what is a more classical, linear and terroir-driven expression of Pavie that clearly needs time to fully open.

Château Pavie is the powerful, flagship Grand Vin of this Premier Grand Cru Classé A estate in Saint-Émilion, crafted from a single, south-facing clay-limestone hillside that yields notably structured, ageworthy wines. Typically Merlot-dominant with significant Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, it is known for its intense dark fruit, concentration and mineral-inflected richness, which in recent years have been increasingly balanced by a more polished, elegant style under Gérard Perse’s stewardship.
