Chateau Pavie 2000 Vintage Overview

2000 OVERVIEW

Layer upon layer of dark cassis and blackberry roll across the palate in the 2000 Chateau Pavie, framed by velvety yet powerful tannins and a deep core of spice, cocoa and graphite. Still youthful but finally expressive, it shows a sumptuous, almost hedonistic richness lifted by surprising freshness, with notes of truffle, tobacco leaf and warm earth emerging on a very long, resonant finish.

About Chateau Pavie

Château Pavie is the powerful, flagship Grand Vin of this Premier Grand Cru Classé A estate in Saint-Émilion, crafted from a single, south-facing clay-limestone hillside that yields notably structured, ageworthy wines. Typically Merlot-dominant with significant Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, it is known for its intense dark fruit, concentration and mineral-inflected richness, which in recent years have been increasingly balanced by a more polished, elegant style under Gérard Perse’s stewardship.
