Chateau Angelus 2012 Vintage Overview

2012 OVERVIEW

Generous yet still tightly coiled, 2012 Château Angélus layers ripe blackberry, dark cherry and plum with accents of espresso, dark chocolate and sweet spice, all framed by polished but firm tannins. There’s a vibrant line of acidity and a hint of citrus peel and herbs that lift the dense fruit, giving the wine an energetic, almost youthful feel despite its age. This is a confident, richly styled Angélus that rewards air now and will become increasingly complex with further cellaring.

About Chateau Angelus

Château Angélus is the flagship grand vin of this historic Saint-Émilion estate, a Merlot–Cabernet Franc blend rooted in a warm, south-facing amphitheatre of clay-limestone soils that accentuates ripe fruit and early ripening. Defined by an unusually high proportion of Cabernet Franc for the Right Bank, it is known for combining lush, dense, creamy texture with floral lift, spice, freshness, and long ageing potential, expressing both power and refinement from its iconic hillside terroir.
