Castellare di Castellina’s 2020 I Sodi di San Niccolò is a vibrant, deeply flavored Tuscan red, saturating the palate with ripe cherry, blackberry and pomegranate layered with Mediterranean herbs, spice and hints of earth, tobacco and stone. Despite its intensity and concentration, the tannins are unusually refined and silky for this cuvée at such a young stage, carried by bright acidity into a long, chalk-tinged, energetic finish that already feels remarkably complete and harmonious.
