I Sodi Di San Niccolo 2018 Vintage Overview

2018 OVERVIEW

Castellare di Castellina I Sodi di San Niccolò 2018 glows with pure black and red cherry, plum and cassis layered over violet, sweet spice and a subtle earthy warmth, all wrapped in a polished frame of oak. The palate is powerful yet strikingly refined for this cuvée, with tightly knit but silky tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, precise finish that balances intensity with real finesse.

About I Sodi Di San Niccolo

I Sodi di San Niccolò is Castellare di Castellina’s flagship “Super Tuscan,” a Toscana IGT red built almost entirely from old-vine native grapes (primarily Sangioveto with a smaller share of Malvasia Nera) from a high-altitude, limestone, single-vineyard cru in Castellina in Chianti. Fermented in steel and aged extensively in barrique and bottle, it’s known for combining intense ripe red and dark fruit, spice, and licorice notes with vibrant acidity, fine tannins, and outstanding longevity, making it one of Tuscany’s benchmark ageworthy wines.
