CARO 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Bodegas Caro CARO 2021 layers dense blackcurrant and bramble fruit with notes of cocoa, graphite, and gentle spice, all carried on a cool, precise frame. The palate is smooth yet structured, with polished tannins giving shape to the ripe dark fruit and a long, clean, tobacco-tinged finish that reflects the vintage’s slightly fresher profile.

About CARO

CARO is the flagship Bordeaux-style blend from Bodegas CARO — a partnership between the Catena family and Domaines Barons de Rothschild — that marries Argentine Malbec with Cabernet Sauvignon grown at high-altitude sites in Mendoza’s Uco Valley. Typically aged about 18 months in French oak (much of it from the DBR/Lafite cooperage), it’s marked by concentrated dark-fruit and floral notes, lifted alpine acidity, firm yet polished tannins and a structure built for ageing rather than immediate hedonism.
