Coeur de Cuvee Brut Premier Cru 2011 Vintage Overview

2011 OVERVIEW

In this 2011 Vilmart & Cie Coeur de Cuvée Brut Premier Cru, the usually delicate vintage gains welcome depth, showing layered citrus peel, ripe orchard fruit and toasted brioche wrapped in a gentle creaminess. Subtle spice and a hint of vanilla-toned wood frame the wine, while the palate remains taut, chalky and precise, finishing long and detailed. It’s an expressive, vinous Champagne that turns a lighter year into something genuinely compelling and complex.

About Coeur de Cuvee Brut Premier Cru

Coeur de Cuvée Brut Premier Cru from Vilmart & Cie is the house’s flagship Champagne—the “heart of the cuvée” drawn from the estate’s oldest Premier Cru vines (chiefly in Rilly‑la‑Montagne), typically blended about 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir. Vinified largely in small oak barrels with no malolactic fermentation and aged many years on the lees before a low-to-moderate dosage (around 7 g/L), it shows a tension between rich, honeyed, brioche-like texture and bright citrus/white‑flower lift with chalky minerality and long saline length.
