S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 Vintage Overview

2020 OVERVIEW

Ripe black cherry, plum and cassis drive the 2020 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon, layered with hints of dark chocolate, warm spice, and subtle earth. The palate is broad and concentrated yet tightly framed, with firm, persistent tannins and a long, dark-fruited finish that feels both velvety and slightly gravelly. This is a structured, serious S.L.V. that will reward patience in the cellar.

About S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon

S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon is Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars’ original, estate-grown Cabernet from the historic Stag’s Leap Vineyard in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District, the site that produced the 1973 Cabernet which famously won the 1976 Judgment of Paris. Planted in 1970 on predominantly volcanic, well-drained soils, S.L.V. typically yields a structured, ageworthy Cabernet Sauvignon noted for its concentrated dark fruit, spicy intensity, minerality, and elegant tannins, and is considered one of the winery’s benchmark single-vineyard wines.
