S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 Vintage Overview

2019 OVERVIEW

Depth and perfume define the 2019 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon, with layered blackcurrant, blackberry and plum framed by violet, dark chocolate, and subtle baking spice. The palate is dense yet refined, its silky but firm tannins and lively acidity giving structure to concentrated dark fruit, hints of graphite and dried herbs, and a long, poised finish that showcases this vintage’s combination of power and elegance.

About S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon

S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon is Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars’ original, estate-grown Cabernet from the historic Stag’s Leap Vineyard in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District, the site that produced the 1973 Cabernet which famously won the 1976 Judgment of Paris. Planted in 1970 on predominantly volcanic, well-drained soils, S.L.V. typically yields a structured, ageworthy Cabernet Sauvignon noted for its concentrated dark fruit, spicy intensity, minerality, and elegant tannins, and is considered one of the winery’s benchmark single-vineyard wines.
