Cuvee 'S' Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Brut 2012 Vintage Overview

2012 OVERVIEW

Energy and finesse define the 2012 Salon Cuvée ‘S’ Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Brut, a chiseled yet luxurious Champagne that layers lemon curd, green apple and white flowers over chalk, oyster shell and warm pastry notes. The palate is tense, deep and tightly coiled, with laser-like acidity, pinpoint bubbles and a long, saline, citrus-zest finish that shows both the power and pristine clarity that make this one of the most exciting Salon releases of the decade. It’s already thrilling in the glass but clearly built to gain nuance and grandeur with extended cellaring.

Vinified in stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation and aged around a decade on lees, it is famed for its combination of laser-like acidity, chalky Côte des Blancs minerality, and intense yet restrained power, evolving slowly into layers of citrus, white flowers, brioche, and hazelnut.
