Brunello di Montalcino 2019 Vintage Overview

2019 OVERVIEW

Layered red and black cherry, wild herbs and rose flow from the 2019 Poggio di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino, carried by vivid acidity and a refined, tensile frame. The palate is pure and focused yet quietly powerful, with sleek, finely etched tannins and a long, stony finish that reveals its more muscular side while remaining exquisitely poised. This is a graceful but structured Brunello built for long evolution in bottle.

About Brunello di Montalcino

Brunello di Montalcino from Poggio di Sotto is a benchmark, traditionally crafted 100% Sangiovese from old, biodiverse vineyards on poor clay-and-limestone soils in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, at 200–450 meters above sea level. Fermented with long macerations and aged well beyond DOCG requirements in large Slavonian oak casks, it yields a pale yet intensely perfumed, supremely elegant style of Brunello, with bright cherry fruit, floral and citrus nuances, and refined tannins built for long aging.
