Bourgogne Blanc Éclat de Calcaire is Pierre-Vincent Girardin’s incisive, mineral-driven Chardonnay, sourced mainly from old vines in Meursault with a touch of Volnay (and, more recently, additional Meursault plots and a hint of Aligoté), all on limestone-rich soils that live up to the name. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and raised in larger barrels before a stint in tank, it marries bright citrus, white peach and pear with smoky, salty, limestone tension, often showing the energy and precision of a far grander Côte de Beaune white.
