Barolo Bricco Ambrogio 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Silky yet firmly structured, Paolo Scavino’s 2021 Barolo Bricco Ambrogio layers red cherry and pomegranate fruit with floral tones, hints of balsamic spice and dark herbs, all carried on precise, chalk-dusted tannins that give a long, focused and tightly coiled finish. This vintage feels particularly refined and energetic, built more on tension and finesse than sheer weight, and will reward patience in the cellar.

About Barolo Bricco Ambrogio

Paolo Scavino’s Barolo Bricco Ambrogio is a single‑vineyard Nebbiolo from the Bricco Ambrogio cru in Roddi (south/southeast‑facing, marl and limestone soils) that debuted in 2002; it’s praised for an intense, multi‑layered floral and red‑fruit aromatic profile and a silky, polished acid‑tannin balance. Typically made from older vines and aged in large casks and neutral oak, it shows vivid rose, cherry and savory/mineral notes with a long, nuanced finish and generally softer tannins than some of Scavino’s other cru bottlings.
