2016 Pro Rating
Silky Barolo perfume leads with dried strawberry, rose petal and warm spice, carried on a poised, medium-full palate that feels both concentrated and lifted. Paolo Scavino’s 2016 Barolo Bricco Ambrogio shows superb balance of ripe red and black fruits, floral tones and savory hints of tobacco and iron, finishing long, vivid and already quite seductive while clearly built for further complexity in bottle.

Paolo Scavino’s Barolo Bricco Ambrogio is a single‑vineyard Nebbiolo from the Bricco Ambrogio cru in Roddi (south/southeast‑facing, marl and limestone soils) that debuted in 2002; it’s praised for an intense, multi‑layered floral and red‑fruit aromatic profile and a silky, polished acid‑tannin balance. Typically made from older vines and aged in large casks and neutral oak, it shows vivid rose, cherry and savory/mineral notes with a long, nuanced finish and generally softer tannins than some of Scavino’s other cru bottlings.
