Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial 2012 Vintage Overview

2012 OVERVIEW

Marqués de Murrieta Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial 2012 is a deeply complex Rioja, weaving sweet red and black berry fruit with savory notes of cedar, dried flowers, spice and a subtle earthiness. The long aging has shaped incredibly silky, refined tannins, giving the wine a poised, seamless feel and an almost endless, harmonious finish that already drinks beautifully yet clearly has much more to reveal with time.

About Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial

Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial is Marqués de Murrieta’s rare, flagship Rioja made only in exceptional years from fruit (principally Tempranillo with a splash of Mazuelo) from the high‑altitude La Plana vineyards of the Ygay estate; it is notable for long barrel and bottle ageing that produces a dense, savory profile of ripe red and dark fruit, leather, spice and cedar with firm, polished tannins and exceptional cellaring potential.
