Ermitage de l'Oree Blanc 2010 Vintage Overview

2010 OVERVIEW

Opulence takes center stage in the 2010 M. Chapoutier Ermitage de l'Oree Blanc, with layers of ripe peach, quince and honeyed citrus flowing over a dense, almost glycerol texture that still feels remarkably tense and precise. Subtle hints of ginger, anise and chamomile add complexity, while a stony, saline edge keeps the finish long, upright and incredibly focused. This is a hedonistic yet finely etched expression of old-vine Marsanne in a truly great northern Rhône vintage.

About Ermitage de l'Oree Blanc

Ermitage de l’Oree Blanc is M. Chapoutier’s monumental dry white Hermitage, a 100% Marsanne from old vines in the Les Murets parcel on the eastern flank of the hill, farmed biodynamically and raised largely in demi-muids. It is famed for its intense golden color, opulent texture and layered flavors—ripe stone fruits, honey, roasted nuts and warm stones lifted by floral and citrus notes—yet it remains finely etched and long-lived, capable of evolving for decades in bottle.
