The Armagh Shiraz 2013 Vintage Overview

2013 OVERVIEW

Jim Barry’s 2013 The Armagh Shiraz is a concentrated, savory expression, layering dark plum, cassis and blueberry with roast game, cocoa, cracked pepper and well-judged oak spice. The palate is powerful yet controlled, with vivid acidity and fine, creamy tannins giving a sleek, almost silken flow and a very long, dark-fruited finish that hints at red berries and citrus peel lift as it lingers.

Typically deeply coloured, powerful and long-lived yet refined, it layers concentrated blackberry and black cherry fruit with mocha, spice, dark chocolate and fine, gravelly tannins, expressing both the warmth of its northwest-facing aspect and the cool-night structure that marks top Cl…
