2022 Pro Rating
Dark-toned and savory, Il Poggione Rosso di Montalcino 2022 layers ripe red and black cherry fruit with hints of warm spice, dried flowers and a gentle earthy depth. The palate is medium to full in weight, with cool, supple fruit wrapped in firm but refined tannins, leading to a long, slightly chewy finish that feels polished rather than rustic. It’s a structured, serious Rosso that already drinks well but clearly has the concentration to improve in bottle over the next few years.
