Chateauneuf-du-Pape Mon Aieul 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

Domaine Pierre Usseglio et Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape Mon Aïeul 2022 bursts with pure, deep Grenache character, layering dark cherry and strawberry compote with dried thyme, bay and a touch of black olive. The palate is powerful yet surprisingly graceful, with velvety tannins, lively acidity and a long, spicy finish that already shows impressive precision for such a rich vintage.

About Chateauneuf-du-Pape Mon Aieul

Mon Aïeul is Domaine Pierre Usseglio’s flagship Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape cuvée — a single‑varietal, 100% Grenache drawn from old‑vine parcels (La Crau, Les Serres, La Guigasse) that’s vinified largely whole‑cluster and matured in neutral demi‑muids and concrete. It’s a perfumed, Provençal expression of Grenache: silky, vividly fruit‑driven (red and black cherry, raspberry) with kirsch‑like lift, garrigue spice and a long, saline, mineral finish, reflecting the estate’s sandy, galets and calcareous terroirs.
