Pommard Les Pezerolles Premier Cru 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

Plush dark plum and blackberry fruit gives Domaine de Montille’s 2022 Pommard Les Pezerolles Premier Cru a generous, almost velvety feel, wrapped in a frame of firm but refined tannins. Notes of black pepper, subtle tea-like perfume and warm spice add depth, while the limestone spine keeps the finish poised and elegant rather than heavy. This is a structured, serious Pézerolles that should relax beautifully with time in bottle.

About Pommard Les Pezerolles Premier Cru

Domaine de Montille’s Pommard 1er Cru Les Pézerolles is an unusually refined, almost Volnay‑like Pommard—floral and perfumed with bright red and black fruit (raspberry, peony, red currant) framed by fine chalky tannins and a supple, velvety texture. Sourced from small parcels (including part of the old Clos de Pézerolles) on relatively deep, sandy topsoil over limestone and often vinified with a significant whole‑cluster component, it combines finesse and tension and is typically aged in a portion of new oak for added structure and complexity.
