Pommard Les Pezerolles Premier Cru 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Softly glowing red fruit and plum glide out of the glass in Domaine de Montille’s Pommard Les Pezerolles 1er Cru 2021, layered with gentle spice, earth and a touch of tobacco leaf. On the palate it feels taut yet silky, balancing bright acidity with fine, powdery tannins and a lingering, fruit‑laden finish that promises greater nuance with a few years in bottle.

About Pommard Les Pezerolles Premier Cru

Domaine de Montille’s Pommard 1er Cru Les Pézerolles is an unusually refined, almost Volnay‑like Pommard—floral and perfumed with bright red and black fruit (raspberry, peony, red currant) framed by fine chalky tannins and a supple, velvety texture. Sourced from small parcels (including part of the old Clos de Pézerolles) on relatively deep, sandy topsoil over limestone and often vinified with a significant whole‑cluster component, it combines finesse and tension and is typically aged in a portion of new oak for added structure and complexity.
