Silky red and black cherry, raspberry and dried plum pulse through the 2019 Cordero di Montezemolo Barolo Bricco Gattera, layered with lavender, warm spice, tobacco leaf and a touch of licorice. The vintage’s extra concentration shows in the wine’s dense core and firm, chalky tannins, yet there’s a lively, energetic line of acidity that keeps it precise and long on the palate. Full of promise now, it will gain complexity and polish with some years in the cellar.
