2020 Pro Rating
Clos de Sarpe 2020 shows how this estate’s naturally intense fruit can be shaped into something refined: vibrant blackberry and cassis layered with dark cherry, gentle spice and a touch of dried herbs, all wrapped in supple, powdery tannins. Medium to full in body but never heavy, it glides across the palate with polished texture and a long, silky, mint-tinged finish that promises excellent aging.
Roast lamb with thyme and garlic; dry-aged ribeye steak; duck breast with blackberry sauce

Clos de Sarpe is the tiny, family-run Grand Cru from a 3.7‑hectare, south‑east facing plateau in Saint‑Émilion planted predominantly to old Merlot with a smaller component of Cabernet Franc; its thin clay over limestone soils and very old vines give the wine an intense, mineral core, high natural acidity and exceptional age‑worthiness. Crafted with low yields and careful oak maturation, it shows concentrated black fruit, floral and chalky/graphite notes and a precise, energetic finish that reflects the Sarpe plateau’s limestone terroir.
