Clos de Sarpe 2015 Vintage Overview

2015 OVERVIEW

Power and gloss define the 2015 Clos de Sarpe, with waves of ultra-ripe black cherry and blackberry layered over rich cocoa, sweet spice and a subtle earthy depth. The palate is full-bodied and lavish yet remarkably fresh, framed by polished tannins that give this concentrated Saint-Émilion real lift and length. This is a bold, modern expression that still holds onto balance and terroir-driven complexity.

About Clos de Sarpe

Clos de Sarpe is the tiny, family-run Grand Cru from a 3.7‑hectare, south‑east facing plateau in Saint‑Émilion planted predominantly to old Merlot with a smaller component of Cabernet Franc; its thin clay over limestone soils and very old vines give the wine an intense, mineral core, high natural acidity and exceptional age‑worthiness. Crafted with low yields and careful oak maturation, it shows concentrated black fruit, floral and chalky/graphite notes and a precise, energetic finish that reflects the Sarpe plateau’s limestone terroir.
