Poetry Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Depth and precision define the 2021 Cliff Lede Vineyards Poetry Cabernet Sauvignon, which layers pure black cherry and currant with hints of violet, dark chocolate, tobacco leaf and subtle baking spice. The palate is concentrated yet silk-textured, with remarkably fine, integrated tannins and a long, mineral-tinged finish that shows both power and poise. A benchmark Stags Leap expression that will gain even more nuance with time in the cellar.

About Poetry Cabernet Sauvignon

Poetry is Cliff Lede’s flagship Cabernet Sauvignon from a steep, rocky hillside block in the Stags Leap District, built for concentration and age. Typically a Cabernet-led blend with small amounts of Merlot, Cab Franc and Petit Verdot, it shows dense dark-fruit, floral and spice perfume, firm layered tannins from low-yield, volcanic soils, and extended élevage in mostly new French oak that gives it richness, structure and long-term cellaring potential.
