From the first sniff this Pomerol feels profound: Chateau Trotanoy 2019 layers plush black plum and cherry fruit with cool stone, tobacco leaf and a deep, earthy hum, all wrapped in a velvety but firmly architectural frame. The palate is dense yet vividly fresh, with creamy, fine-grained tannins and an almost endless, graphite-tinged finish that marks this as one of the great modern vintages of Trotanoy.
Roast lamb shoulder with rosemary and garlic; Dry-aged ribeye with porcini mushrooms; Braised beef short ribs with truffle-infused jus

Château Trotanoy is a profound, Merlot-dominant Pomerol from the Moueix family, drawn from a tiny 7.2-hectare vineyard of dense clay-and-gravel soils over iron-rich “crasse de fer” that are famously hard to work but give the wine its power and depth. Typically displaying deep color, velvety yet massive structure, and complex layers of dark fruits, chocolate, truffle, and tobacco, it is considered one of Pomerol’s top crus and is renowned for its remarkable longevity and intensity.
