Shape-shifting between plush and precise, Alter Ego de Palmer 2024 glides with dark cherry and currant fruit wrapped in violets, plum and gentle spice, then tightens into a sapid, saline, graphite-tinged finish. Medium to full in body yet beautifully lithe, it shows polished, ripe tannins and a sense of energy and clarity that makes this cooler, Cabernet-driven vintage especially vivid and immediately appealing, while still built to gain nuance in bottle.
Roast lamb with rosemary and garlic; Duck breast with cherry glaze; Wild mushroom and truffle risotto

Alter Ego de Palmer is a distinct cuvée from Château Palmer in Margaux, crafted since 1998 as an earlier‑drinking, more fruit‑forward “other expression” of the same biodynamic, gravelly terroir rather than a classic second wine. Typically a Merlot‑ and Cabernet Sauvignon–based Bordeaux blend with some Petit Verdot, it is known for its generous dark fruit, floral and spice notes, silky tannins, and supple texture that showcases Margaux elegance while remaining accessible in its youth yet capable of aging gracefully.
