Chateau Le Pin 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

From the first aroma, 2022 Château Le Pin feels like a cloud of dark, glowing fruit – plum, black cherry and crushed cassis – laced with gentle spice and rose petal. On the palate it glides rather than pushes, a pure, concentrated Merlot that somehow stays light on its feet, with ultra-fine tannins and perfectly judged oak giving a long, poised, quietly luxurious finish. This is a more serious, deeply tuned Le Pin than in some years, yet it keeps all the charm and effortlessness that make the estate so coveted.

About Chateau Le Pin

Château Le Pin is an ultra-rare, 100% Merlot Pomerol from the tiny, gravel-and-clay “crasse de fer” soils of Catusseau, crafted by the Thienpont family in minute quantities that often make it one of the world’s most expensive red wines. Known for its sensual, velvety texture and intensely pure, exotic fruit character, it helped define the modern “garage wine” aesthetic while still expressing a singular, top-plateau Pomerol terroir.
