Chateau Le Pin 2016 Vintage Overview

2016 OVERVIEW

Silky at first sip then quietly explosive, 2016 Château Le Pin layers pure blackberry and red cherry liqueur with violet, rose petal, black tea and a touch of warm spice, all wrapped in feather‑fine yet powerful tannins. The palate is medium-bodied but lavish in flavor, with a cool precision and lift that keeps its opulence in perfect check, finishing incredibly long, polished and almost weightless for such intensity. This is a hedonistic yet amazingly refined Le Pin that clearly ranks among the château’s modern greats.

About Chateau Le Pin

Château Le Pin is an ultra-rare, 100% Merlot Pomerol from the tiny, gravel-and-clay “crasse de fer” soils of Catusseau, crafted by the Thienpont family in minute quantities that often make it one of the world’s most expensive red wines. Known for its sensual, velvety texture and intensely pure, exotic fruit character, it helped define the modern “garage wine” aesthetic while still expressing a singular, top-plateau Pomerol terroir.
