Chateau La Mondotte 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

In 2022, La Mondotte is all about depth wrapped in refinement, with dense black and blue fruits layered over cocoa, violets, and a stony, limestone-driven edge. The palate feels plush yet controlled, silky in texture but powered by ripe, fine-grained tannins and bright energy that carries a long, savory finish. This is a poised, modern Saint-Émilion that should give pleasure early while clearly built for the long haul.

About Chateau La Mondotte

La Mondotte is a tiny, ultra‑concentrated Premier Grand Cru Classé Saint‑Émilion from a 4.5‑hectare, old‑vine clay‑limestone plateau east of the village, crafted by Stephan von Neipperg as an intense Merlot–Cabernet Franc “super‑cuvée” with very low yields and organic farming. Known for its rich, mineral‑driven power and great ageing potential, it has become one of Bordeaux’s most sought‑after, small‑production Right Bank wines.
