Chateau La Mondotte 2016 Vintage Overview

2016 OVERVIEW

Dense yet poised, Chateau La Mondotte 2016 layers pure cassis, black plum and blueberry fruit with hints of violet, ink and warm spice, all framed by a strong limestone-driven freshness. The palate is opulent and velvety but tightly focused, with refined tannins and a long, chalky-mineral finish that gives this powerful Saint-Émilion remarkable tension and energy. A superbly concentrated, ageworthy vintage that shows both depth and lift.

About Chateau La Mondotte

La Mondotte is a tiny, ultra‑concentrated Premier Grand Cru Classé Saint‑Émilion from a 4.5‑hectare, old‑vine clay‑limestone plateau east of the village, crafted by Stephan von Neipperg as an intense Merlot–Cabernet Franc “super‑cuvée” with very low yields and organic farming. Known for its rich, mineral‑driven power and great ageing potential, it has become one of Bordeaux’s most sought‑after, small‑production Right Bank wines.
